Hotdogs are all American! They are most of our childhoods, they are backyard BBQs, they are sitting in the stands watching a baseball game.
With all that they are, they are not vegetarian. And nostalgic foods, like the hotdog, can make a vegetarian/vegan lifestyle challenging. Hotdogs are an experience: the taste, the feeling, and the camaraderie. Frankly, no one wants to be cutting into a tofu steak when everyone else is biting into that perfectly charred dog nestled in a warm bun with ketchup and oozing from all sides.
Great news – you don’t have to be! These vegan hotdogs are so good you will likely prefer them over the real thing.
The Plant-based Meat Movement
Plant-based meat alternatives have come a long way. They are in such high demand that the plant-based meat manufacturer, Beyond Meat, has seen a record-breaking surge in their stock price of 550% since May. Fast food chains are also responding to the demand and adding the Impossible Burger to menus nationwide.
Beyond Meat does make a tasty sausage, and hamburger too, but they did not win the top spot on our list. Instead, we crowned Field Roast Grain Meat for the win!
This meatless sausage is satisfying from consistency to taste. They grill nicely, and quickly making it a fantastic option for busy weeknights or poolside BBQ’s.
Field Roast Sausages
Field Roast Sausages come in several flavors: Italian, Mexican Chipotle and Smoke Apple Sage. We recommend the Italian flavor for the traditional hotdog swap.
You’ll never miss a hotdog again after trying these sausages. In fact, you won’t miss sausages at all. We also recommend adding Field Roast Italian Sausages to pastas or your favorite sausage and peppers recipes.
So, what are you waiting for? Call your friends and fire up the grill. It’s time to get cookin’!
